Comment: Eldest son of eldest son of eldest son who walked away from the "family farm" of Clifton Reynes, Bucks. Have a son, also James West Scorer, as have we all been Christened since namesake ,(Gt Granddaddy)occupied the farm. My father was born in South Africa before the family emigrated to Australia as my grandmother was Australian. The family has been here ever since. I found this site while researching a Bible and Clifton Reynes Church (St Mary the Virgin) of which I understand the Scorer family has the letting, or did as recently as the 1980's. Gt Granddaddy is buried in St Mary's Churchyard beside his two wives. Hope this is of some interest to your Society, and, if I can be of further assistance, please make contact. Jim Scorer

Spooner landlord of the Three Horse Shoes & Churchwarden). What does it mean. Did he change his name? I am puzzzled. Any help would be gratefully accepted.
